Women’s contribution to Tenon has played a significant part in ensuring Tenon’s growth & prosperity over the years. The industries we operate in- Integrated Security & Facility Management- have shown underrepresentation of women. But, Tenon is leading the change. We have women in every department who are making their distinguished mark in the industry. From leading Business Development teams to Accounts & Collections, our boss ladies continue to break one bias at every passing second with strong ambitions.
This Women’s Day, we asked Tenon Wonder Women if they measure up to the success they envisioned when they first joined us. Here’s what they have to say:
I have worked at Tenon for 22 years, always a possibility for progression no matter how small or big the progression is. I started as a Stock Manager and now I am a Supply Chain & Fleet Manager.
Tenon always encourage you to break your boundaries and assert more confidence within yourself. Tenon has helped me professionally grow within myself and the Company, always new opportunities to learn more. I am not afraid of hard work, do not mind mucking in were required (I am a big believer of giving it a go yourself first before asking someone else, no matter the job. Teamwork is key.
I joined Tenon FM seven years ago and one of the best qualities of Tenon FM is the incredible opportunity the company has given me for growth and advancement. I feel the Company has seen my potential and encouraged me to develop, trusting me with increased responsibility and empowered me to achieve my professional goals.
I am proud to work for an organisation that invests and supports people in their professional growth whether it be at management, supervisor or employee levels.
I started my Facilities Management career at Rentokil Initial 18 years ago within Cleaning Sales Team and was able to further develop through a full training programme offered. I enjoyed my successes with Rentokil Initial and having learnt from my failures, tweaked my ways of working and adapted as the market changed. The Facilities Services is an ever-changing market which keeps my interests sparked and gives great job satisfaction. Since joining Tenon FM, I have been inspired further through the way I and others are supported to professionally grow.

Team work makes the dream work
I started my career with Elite as a Cleaning Operative in Industrial Team. When my English language was of higher standard and with the support of the owner, I was offered a position to assist in the office.
Thanks to Tenon FM, I am more involved in the Company’s affairs, take on new challenges thanks to which I can develop. Tenon has given me the opportunity to better understand the environment and waste management. Thanks to my work in the company, I have gained the confidence that I can use to support other employees of the company.
I have worked within HR and Resourcing for nearly 20 years. I started working for Elite Cleaning and Environmental Services almost 14 years ago, Elite was acquired and became part of Tenon FM UK in 2017 and since then my role has grown as has our team and we all work together to support one another. I enjoy the challenge of the role and how no day is the same!

I joined Tenon FM in January 2019 as a Payroll Manager. Since joining I have built a payroll team who have gained confidence over time. I hold a good relationship with Area Managers, where I offer support to them when they need it.
Having the full support of the HR Director to help develop my own skills, is greatly appreciated.
I started with Elite Cleaning Company in 2015 and was taken over from Tenon FM in 2017. I was able to further develop more skills. Tenon FM encouraged me to do more training and supported me in all area to do my job more efficiently.
Coming to England from Ecuador as a qualified Catering & Hospitality Manager I found it challenging to get a role when I arrived. Beginning in the catering world where some of my skills where recognised I realised that money was not plentiful and thus, I needed additional income to top up my primary role. I decided to take a cleaning job which was soon recognisable as my primary job was able to switch to Tenon FM and leave catering back in 2012. In every place I have worked I have been able to develop my talent and show my ability to solve problems as well as dealing with people creating a positive outcome to our clients while meeting their expectations.
From cleaner to team leader, promoted soon to a cleaning supervisor, thereafter as full-time administrator decided to take the opportunity to go out to the field as Assistant Manager and escalated to my current role as Soft Services Manager
I have only just started my journey with Tenon. It has been the quickest and most amazing 7 months of my life. I was promoted after 2 months to Mobile Supervisor and I love the daily challenges this role brings. I have learnt so much more from the short time I have been with the company, from the support team within Fleet, HR and Payroll and the daily interaction with staff members on client sites, all of which will help me progress within the Company.
The Management Team and HR Team have supported me and have been there when I have needed them ensuring our staff across our portfolio are looked after and any queries are quickly acted upon. I’m the happiest I have been in a long time in my work life thanks to the Tenon family.
I would also like to finish with congratulating Tenon Group on completing 27 years of success and I hope I can further support in the many years to come.
